A Lovely Coffee Gift

For Valentine’s Day this year my husband gifted me with an addition to my coffee bar, a coffee pour over, and a few bags of coffee beans from out of state coffee companies.

What an incredible and thoughtful gift!

I love the smell of coffee beans when you first open their package. As soon as we opened the bag it filled our nostrils. This first set contained ingredients of caramel, honey, & clementine. We put a handful of beans within our small bean hand crank crusher and we both started making coffee grounds. Once done we filled the specific coffee filter for this pour over about a third of the way up and let it set within the top portion of the glass container. From there we had water boiling within our tea kettle ready to go in which we both poured some over the grounds slowly to let it drip through to the bottom. (with my clumsy self I did make a mess with the water by not easily pouring it out). Once down we let it continue until we thought the brew was ready. Considering how clumsy and messy I am I let my husband do this next part on his own which led him to fill our small glass coffee cups to the brim with this pour over coffee drip.

It tasted good, tasted like coffee. 😉

The purpose of a coffee drip is to give you a different cleaner or clearer taste. Gives you the control to make your own coffee with temperature of water, speed of brewing, and how much it takes and uses for strength or weakness. Some swear by it and use this way only.

To truly compare it to a coffee pot. I used the same coffee beans ground up within my Keurig to see if the difference between the two coffee items. I am not sure I like the new way better. It is good but different, may be a taste I would have to grow to like.

(crushing those good smelling coffee beans)

(letting it brew and drip)

(time to drink it and try it out!)

Maybe we are doing it wrong.

If you have ever tried one, how do you use it?

How do you like it?

We have an old drip pot it makes the coffee a lot stronger than the bunn pots we have now! It takes a lot longer for the drip pot and you have to reheat each time you get coffee! Better tasting coffee but it takes to long to make if you are in a hurry for coffee! You have a very handsome and thoughtful husband! Ha! Ha! Got to brag on my grandson but I love you both!

We love you too! Thank you for your comment and input! I am sure we rushed the process and the coffee came out weaker then expected and what we wanted.
