Continuing to Brew Connections…continuation

Recently, I shared some photos and a blog post featuring coffee cups being repurposed as little homes for ivy cuttings—hoping that tiny roots begin to form, reaching out, and growing into something more. It was a small symbol of things I love: the comfort of coffee, the quiet magic of watching something grow, and the beauty of connection through it all.

To be honest, I’ve never considered myself someone with a “green thumb.” In fact, for a long time, I didn’t think I had one at all. But something’s been shifting over the years. These days, my back porch and places in my home have slowly filled with life—plants of all shapes and sizes, each one teaching me a bit more about patience, care, and the learning secrets of nurturing growth. Not every plant makes it (still working on that), but every attempt is a step forward in my opinion.

I didn’t grow up tending to plants, but I’m lucky to have married into a family with that natural plant sense—those “legendary” green thumbs—and they’ve been generous with their wisdom. I'm learning through their stories, their tips, and the little secrets they use to keep their plants alive, full, and healthy.

Somehow, it feels like all of this—plants, coffee, connection—is starting to root together. And from those roots, something new keeps growing.

Just a few pictures over the years of some plants that made it maybe did not make it. Yet, lots are still growing and my "green thumb" continues to improve some way or another!
