A Whirlwind of Color, Castles, Celebrations, and Country Music
So many trips turned into long adventures—equal parts Renaissance magic, neon creativity, and heartfelt family moments.
Renaissance Faire Shenanigans
We took a day trip to the Renaissance Faire with friends and family, where knights clashed in dramatic sword fights and the smell of turkey legs filled the air. I showed up fully ready for the jousting tournament… only to realize I had completely missed it. Classic. But the day made up for it with a surprise proposal we witnessed right in front of the castle gates—followed later by a full-on medieval-themed wedding. The newlyweds even joined the festival parade, waving from horseback like they’d always been part of the royal court. We still had the chance to witness clashing reenactments, talented weapons making, and much more. Me and my husband dressed the part fully emerging within the scenes unraveling before us enjoying each moment we could feel as if we fit in all too well!
Into the Color Factory
Next came a trip to the Color Factory, which felt like stepping straight into a living storybook. Every room was an incredible immersive experience, confetti, ball pits, interactive walls, sound tunnels, and color-based challenges that had us laughing, jumping, and scribbling notes like kids who had been let loose in a secret playground. It’s the kind of place that’s simply more fun when you bring friends along; every corner felt like an invitation to locate a childlike heart and fun spirit.
My Sister’s Wedding Adventure
Continuing with the adventures to the mountain views it was as we traveled for my sister’s wedding and the bridal party. The trip was fueled by excellent bagels (because all great road trips require carbs), plenty of dog-friendly stops, and long drives framed by towering mountain skylines and single car curved roads. The bachelorette and bachelor party combined contained spa treatments for athletes with hot rocks and essential oils along with finishing a difficult escape room. This party and engagement photos in one state while the ceremony itself was beautiful—simple, heartfelt, and framed by nature in a way that made the whole day feel enchanted in another. None to be forgotten!
Grand Ole Opry
Moving forward to a separate Tennessee trip we spent a morning at the Grand Ole Opry, where the hum of guitars and the twang of country classics set the tone from the moment we walked in. I was ready to hear a few familiar songs… and ended up discovering artists I didn’t even know I loved. Between surprise guest appearances (in recorded video only) and stories shared between songs, the tour felt equal parts concert and cozy front-porch jam session. By the end it was incredible to say we witnessed a little piece of musical history.
From knights and castles to color explosions and mountain vows with a historical past, the past few adventures taken have been a kaleidoscope of experiences, each one reminding me that adventure doesn’t always mean dragons or quests. Sometimes it’s just good food, good company, unexpected magic, and a few well-timed events along the way. Of course, this is not the only trips Coffee & Story time readers have missed out on but now I cannot share them all in just one travel blog can I?
