Alabama Beaches!
I had the chance to go to Orange Beach, Alabama with my husband who was just my boyfriend at the time and a few good friends back in the early part of 2016. We made it a weekend getaway trip by driving the entire way one Friday and then back Sunday. Despite the fact it rained or was cloudy the entire time this did not ruin our fun.
We stayed up late playing card games in the hotel room, spent the day at the beach relaxin' & chillin' and ate at a pretty good seafood restaurant. We also went to many tourist souvenir shops where my friend got a seashell windchime and my husband got a glow in the dark jellyfish paperweight type item. One of the shops had a huge great white shark on top of it so of course we took pictures underneath it's mouth.
Beach day we spent hours in the water and laying out on the sand then later walked the seaside finding a pearl along the seashells in which we brought home and I made a home photo décor with it as a souvenir. Along with playing some games and eating snacks on a pier.
We then ended the day by eating out at the restaurant I mentioned earlier which was so packed we had to sit at a long table with two other families to fit everyone in. What was funny is it took us so long to find the place to begin with. Our GPS sent us in circles until we realized it was taking us under a bridge on a back road worried it would not have good food or confused to what we wanted we suddenly passed several wooded areas and home to homes and come to the huge place with a parking lot of no free spaces and cars lined up in ditches and on the side of the road. But back to dinner, despite our touching elbows with strangers you would think this would make dinner awkward but it did not. We all ignore this and just enjoyed our own family/friend's company and chowed down on some amazing fish and hushpuppies. I want to say we tried something different like a type of crab or calamari, but I honestly cannot remember that part.
Alabama was nice for a quick weekend trip, but hopefully I get to go back one day and see more!
Have you ever been?
