Building Your Own Motivation

There’s a special kind of motivation that comes from building something with your own two hands. It’s not just about the finished project—it’s about the energy you pour in, the vision that keeps you going, and the pride that comes from saying, “I made this.” Whether it’s a home renovation or transforming a bus into a cozy camping haven, the process becomes just as meaningful as the outcome.

The Bus Project

Working on the bus has been its own adventure. There’s something empowering about stepping inside a space that used to be empty and imagining what it could be. Every choice—where to sleep, how to organize storage, what colors you want to paint - turns into a small act of creation.

One of the best parts for us? Adding a little window for the dogs, so they can look out and enjoy the views too. It’s a reminder that this isn’t just a project, it’s a place for us and our companions to actually live in, even if it is just for a weekend escape.

Staying in the bus, even in its in-progress state, brings a unique sense of ownership. It’s yours—your design, your effort, your sanctuary on wheels. Like renovating a home, building the bus is about more than physical improvement; it’s about creating a place that reflects who you are and where you’re going.

A Place of Our Own

Our home has been the same way. Me and my husband bought a home in 2019 and since then as any home it has come with its ups and downs. With it being a project home from the start, all we could do was envision the possibilities and make it our cozy safe space. From day one it took months of paperwork, cleaning, and prepping along with many other barriers along the way but soon the move in did begin. Since then, about six to seven years later we continue to this day renovating, adding, taking out, repairing, and doing so much. Being able to expand the bathroom, add a closet, create a game room, a coffee corner as well as replacing a roof, tearing out floors and walls, replacing sewer lines and water pipes, creating a yard for the fur babies, and replacing doors and windows. I mean the list could go on, and with each passing time becomes a place we can enjoy not just because it was our vision but because we created it together. We were not in a rush, and we have been extremely grateful and thankful for it and everything that it has provided and brought our way, the good and the bad, so far! And as the time, days, months, and years pass, we continue to take our time that way it becomes the best it can as a home to and for us.

Motivation Through Creation

When you pour yourself into something, you start to see your own potential reflected back at you. The view from the bus—whether it will be mountains, beach, forests, or a quiet open sky—reminds you of all the upcoming goals waiting to be reached. It becomes a moving symbol of progress, freedom, and self-made motivation. The comfort in our home, the calm and peace it brings us and the love and strength that surrounds us. The fact you never want to leave and can truly appreciate it and enjoy it along with sharing it with others. That is what it means to us, and that’s why we don’t lose the motivation we can build with!

Creating something on your own isn’t just a project, it’s a mindset. It’s the belief that you can build the life you want, one wall, one window, one idea at a time. And with every step forward, you’re not just renovating a space; you’re shaping your next chapter.

With that in mind, where is your building motivation taking you?
