Cheers to November Coffee's!
While we move from ORGANIC, we now will head into NATURAL. N.A.T.U.R.A.L.
NOVEMBER is about Nurturing Autonomy, Trying to provide Undivided Realistic Attention to your growth and just Listening.
When thinking of this I ask, what is my (or your) truest voice trying to say — and how can I (or you) create space to let it pour out, like that first hot cup on a cold morning?
Listening here is not just about listening to others but listen to yourself. That small voice in your head you may try to ignore. It may be trying to keep you safe, but it could also be telling you something else. Now if it is something negative you still need to be aware of it because pushing it aside and away could only increase the volume and then the impact.
I express myself in song. Loudly. Especially in the car, sometimes with my husband. It is quite hard on a daily basis not to sing along with a good song in most environments, but I always try to reframe from being loud, being annoying, and hum to myself or sing it within my head. My way of providing realistic attention to my need to just let go. To worship and allow emotions to fall over me. To enjoy the beat of an older song I grew up listening to. Allowing it to let me flow to a “simpler” time. Nurturing autonomy, some of it brings me a type of connection depending upon the lyrics that are shared and the meaning behind them.
But then I can also express my NATURAL self quietly and in less obvious ways such as through the clothes I choose to wear for the day; the colors I wear, the shoes I want to wear, even the socks or the energy I feel like I am bringing along with me.
Honestly my NATURAL truth changes daily in some ways and some ways not — but one thing is for sure, it is always there and at least I am aware of it and know it.
Although I listen often, it is a skill I try to grow consistently, so this month, I’m listening to myself not just others. Paying undivided attention to the whisper beneath the noise. The true voice, my true voice. The one that isn’t filtered for others’ comfort. But my NATURAL self.
How will you create space to let your truth pour out quietly, loudly, or within?
