A New Year, A New Approach

Happy New Year to all my fellow Coffee & Story Time readers.
I hope you saw yesterday’s Facebook post and had a moment to reflect. Here's that question again, in case you missed it:
What fresh intention am I brewing this year, and how can I stir it gently into a daily healthy habit — like my morning coffee?
As for me, my fresh intention this year is to be more present. Present in the moment — whether I’m alone, with others, or immersed in an activity like gaming, watching a movie, or gardening.
Last year, I often caught myself going through the motions. I was there... but not really there. Caught between too many thoughts or, at times, no thoughts at all — just an emptiness that dulled the moment. And in that numbness, I missed out. Missed joy. Missed peace. Missed life.
But awareness brings power. The more I noticed, the more I could redirect it. It wasn’t always easy — and sometimes I didn’t want to. It felt draining. But I began practicing presence more often by the end of the year, and I intend to carry that with me now.
Even when I catch myself drifting again — the key word is “catching.” Because catching myself means I can return to being in the moment. And if I can stay in the now, I won’t let life pass me by again.
So… what about you, Coffee & Story Time readers.
What will be your intentional jumpstart this January?
What’s your daily vision?
