Another Step Forward: Coffee Cup Creations Part 1

For Christmas I received this Tumblr set to create my own look for a coffee thermos. I recently took the time to try and create different ones and believe I am getting better over time. I am not quite sure how to get the design I want down for color dipping but the ones I did turned out cool I would have to say. The camo of course was the first one and I loved how it turned out and I will be keeping it for myself. The hardest part I am having trouble getting down pat is the clear coating.
It is taking time to learn how to get the complete thermos covered without bubbles, missing areas, and humps. My husband read the more the better, so I doubled up on how much I was using to completely cover one but then towards the mouth it all bled that way causing it to hump up under the lid part. It is smooth and covered minus a few areas, but I am thinking it had to be unleveled somehow and it dripped down from the one end and hardened in that place.
Slowly but surely I will get the hang of it. I know it will just take some time and patience in which my patience tends to grow short, but I have learned if I just step away for a few days, or even a week and then return I feel calmer about it all. Once I can get the hang of clear coat, I will then learn to design them properly, add a logo or some kind of Coffee & Story Time slogan and then may be start selling them. Wouldn’t that be neat?
After all is said and done way down the road who knows I may even have my own coffee and other interesting items to sale right along with them from within my very own coffee shop. That definitely would be something. Would you want one of these? 🤔🤨😉😊
